To apply for a Re-entry Scholarship, students must meet all of the scholarship requirements indicated for the specific scholarship indicated. By submitting an application, you will be considered for one of the various re-entry scholarships if available.

Bernard Osher Foundation Re-entry Scholarship

The Bernard Osher Foundation seeks to improve quality of life through support for higher education, with special attention to re-entry students. Awards of up to $5,000 for the year will be provided. Applicants must:

  • Be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree and have completed a minimum of 45 undergraduate credits;
  • Have experienced an interruption of five or more years in their educational studies;
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.75;
  • Enroll in a minimum of six undergraduate credits each semester;
  • Anticipate significant participation in the workforce following graduation; and
  • Preference will be given to students who are newly-matriculated at UNLV

Sastaunik Re-entry Scholarship

This scholarship represents a commitment by UNLV Foundation trustees to getting students back on track for their bachelor’s degree. Awards up to $2,500 for fall or spring semester. Applicants must:

  • Be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree.
  • Have experienced an interruption of five or more years in their educational studies;
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.75;
  • Enroll in a minimum of six credits; and
  • Be willing to participate in Foundation events at some time throughout the semester.

Jerri Zika-Semenza Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship provides opportunities to students who are go-getters, self-starters, and hard workers. Through this scholarship endowment students will have an opportunity to pursue their educational goals. Awards of up to $2,000 for the year will be provided. Applicants must:

  • Demonstrate financial need (student must complete a Free Application for Student Financial Aid  [FASFA]);
  • Complete a UNLV Scholarship Application for the academic year in which the applicant applies for the scholarship;
  • Complete at least six credits at UNLV during the semester of application;
  • Demonstrate a minimum 2.75 grade point average;
  • Be fully admitted to UNLV; and
  • Preference is given to students 25 years of age or older and beginning college, or returning to college after an interruption of at least 3 years.

J. Scott and Shara Di Valerio Re-entry Scholarship

The J. Scott and Shara Di Valerio Re-Entry Scholarship Fund is designed for non-traditional re-entry students who have overcome significant challenges in their lives and have chosen to return to college to complete their degree. Awards up to $2,500 a semester for two semesters. Applicants must:

  • Formally be admitted to UNLV pursuing their first bachelor’s degree;
  • Have experienced an interruption of three or more years in their educational studies;
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5; and
  • Enroll in a minimum of six undergraduate credits each semester.

Crankstart Re-entry Scholarship

The Crankstart Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life through support for higher education, with special attention to re-entry students. Awards up to $5,000 for the year to 10 students. Applicants must:

  • Formally be admitted to UNLV pursuing their first bachelor’s degree.
  • Have experienced an interruption of five or more years in their educational studies.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.75.
  • Anticipate significant participation in the workforce following graduation and are ideally between the ages of 25-50.
  • Demonstrate financial need, socio-economic status, challenges and/or hardships, and academic qualifications.
  • Enroll in a minimum of six undergraduate credits each semester.
