Come take part in the coast-to-coast National Public Lands Day at Lake Mead National Recreation Area by participating in a litter cleanup! We will be focusing on an area that has been heavily used over the summer months by Lake Mead visitors. National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy.
On Saturday, September 29, in celebration of National Public Lands Day, the Bureau of Land Management will be holding a clean-up at Oliver Ranch. Come help to remove unwanted material from a historical site. The environment will benefit greatly from your efforts! If you have any questions, please call Cal Howell at 702-515-5386. Register through Get Outdoors Nevada.
We have the job for folks looking to do more than the usual litter cleanup. Defining parking areas is an important part of conservation management. Undefined parking implies no concern for the surrounding habitat or culturally sensitive areas. If folks aren't shown or naturally directed to the best place to park in the back country, they logically assume that any place is as good as the next.
Litter cleanup events through Get Outdoors Nevada are a great way to get some heart-healthy exercise and make new friends, all the while promoting a healthy environment for residents of Southern Nevada. On Saturday, September 22, the Bureau of Land Management will be cleaning up the Bell Vista shooting area. Please join the BLM as they return this area to its pristine condition. Register through Get Outdoors Nevada.
There is nothing like the satisfaction of helping someone or something — especially when one contribution can benefit so many people! Public lands are places that can be enjoyed and appreciated by all. Unfortunately, many of these lands can collect garbage or are illegally used as dumping grounds. You can be a part of the solution — and help the environment, the animals who call the lands home, and the people who appreciate these lands — by joining in on the cleanup. Register through Get Outdoors Nevada.
