The Public Lands Institute is partnering with the National Park Service on a new initiative, the International Protected Area Exchange (IPAX). Recognizing the value in protecting our global natural areas, IPAX will utilize UNLV’s research and education expertise to address the need for additional educational resources to benefit protected areas around the world. The initiative began with a visioning session on Nov. 14 at UNLV.
Our idea is to positively impact protected area uses, management, sustainability, and advocacy around the world. The trans-disciplinary IPAX approach will empower participants through learning experiences rich in dialogue, information, and investigation, and reflection. IPAX will include field experiences, seminars, and extended physical and virtual learning environments for international and national participants.
