Human resource instructor Gary Cottino has been presented with the top teaching award from the UNLV Division of Educational Outreach. Cottino received the 2016 Division of Educational Outreach Faculty Excellence Award during UNLV's 2016 Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony & Reception on April 20.
The UNLV Division of Educational Outreach is featured in "Live and Learn," an article in the new BLVDs magazine. Classes offered by UNLV Continuing Education and OLLI at UNLV are highlighted.
As a Continuing Education student, you are a member of the UNLV community and a UNLV Rebel, which gives you access to some campus services. We are pleased to announce students who have registered for at least one Continuing Education class beginning Spring 2015 are eligible to obtain a RebelCard, the university’s official identification card. The RebelCard is more than an identification card! Discounts and financial savings are a benefit as well.
Sep/Oct 2014 Outreach Insights Now AvailableThe September/October 2014 enewsletter for the Division of Educational Outreach is now available online. Outreach Insights features new funding available to train new RNs, a list of new continuing education classes coming in Spring/Summer 2015, and information for upcoming presentations.
UNLV Continuing Education has nearly 100 courses available for you to explore this summer. A brochure is now available online detailing the professional development and personal enrichment courses being offered from May through July. It also includes new courses, such as Making the Transition from Manager to Leader, Refreshing Summertime Soups, and the California Philharmonic's Festival on the Green Series.
UNLV held its first Academic Achievement Gala on April 17 to honor the distinguished teaching and research of faculty members. Among the honorees was Heath Hiudt, sommelier and Continuing Education instructor, who received the Educational Outreach Faculty Excellence Award. Continuing Education Director Emmanuel (Meni) Sarris nominated Heath for the award, noting the UNLV Sommelier Academy would not exist today without the creativity and dedication of Heath as its designer and lead instructor.
Downtown Las Vegas is gaining ground as a great place to live, work, and play. In light of this trend, it made great sense for Continuing Education to expand its offerings by adding more classroom space close to all the action!
