Non-traditional students make up more than 20 percent of all undergraduate students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. These are students who had their education journey disrupted by family commitments, military service, finances, or other reasons. Not surprisingly, money is often a barrier for adult learners wishing to complete their degree. UNLV’s Community2Campus office within the Division of Educational Outreach administers several scholarships earmarked especially for students returning to college after an extended interruption.

Community2Campus (C2C) recently collaborated with the City of Henderson to share information about UNLV academic opportunities with city staff. On April 9 over thirty employees scheduled academic consultations to have one-on-one advising about areas of interest. Some employees expressed an interest in earning a graduate degree, while others sought to complete an undergraduate degree or train in a new field. These academic consultations allowed for individual discussion and advisement regarding financial aid, timelines, resources, and managing the admissions pathway to UNLV.
The Office of Community2Campus has moved. It is now located on the second floor of the Campus Services Building on the UNLV Main Campus. The office of Executive Director Elizabeth Baldizan, Ed.D. is in Room 206. Administrative assistant Sharon Savage is located in Room 207. The phone numbers remain the same; Baldizan may be reached at 702-774-4626, while Savage's number is 702-895-5069.
