The SAGE Academy is proud to be celebrating its 8th anniversary in July 2012! Our three-week summer program is designed especially for Clark County high achieving middle and high school students. SAGE students earn from 1 to 3 college credits as well as high school enrichment credit.
This is a unique local opportunity for early exposure to college-level work and expectations and Honors university culture as well as to make or renew friendships with gifted peers and conduct research outside of regular classes. Our award-winning instructional faculty includes published creative writers, university lab directors, performing artists, native speakers of foreign languages and more, all selected for their abilities to teach a gifted student population.
2012 Dates: Monday, July 16 - Friday, August 3 (subject to change- final date set November 2011)
Place: UNLV main campus, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM daily except weekends
Cost: $875.00 (includes daily lunches and textbooks). Some scholarships are available, with priority given to those applying before March 9, 2012.
First Review of Applications: March 9, 2012, with rolling admissions thereafter until May 28, 2012.
Who is Eligible? Gifted and high-achieving students ages 11 and above including 2012 graduating seniors. Homeschooled children are also welcome! Provide proof of a 3.3 GPA (high school) or 3.0 (middle school) and one of the following:
Transcript of enrollment in or completion of AP or Honors courses;
- Counselor’s letter certifying gifted or highly-gifted status;
- Letter of previous admission to SAGE or other talented youth programs;
- SAT scores above 520 on either the math or critical reading portions;
- ACT scores above 22 (M) or 29 (E) or 23 (SR) or 24 (R);
- National Merit Scholar or Merit Semifinalist award
