UNLV SAGE ACADEMY

The UNLV SAGE Academy consists of summer classes designed especially for Clark County’s most gifted high school students, taught by UNLV professors with degrees from prestigious universities selected for their special skills in teaching a gifted population.
Upon successful completion, students earn 3 college credits as well as high school enrichment credit. Students read the most recent literature in their fields, engage in spirited discussions with fellow students, learn valuable study habits and independently research selected topics in depth, all mentored by faculty instructors.
2008 Dates: Monday, July 21 - Friday, August 8, 2008: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Place: UNLV main campus
Cost: $800.00 (includes daily lunches in the UNLV Dining Commons, textbooks and a UNLV parking pass). Limited numbers of merit and financial hardship scholarships are available.
Who is Eligible? All gifted high school students (entering freshmen through seniors).
Certify your eligibility by providing proof of one of the following:
- Transcript of enrollment in or completion of AP or Honors courses;
- Counselor’s letter certifying participation in GATE programs;
- Letter of previous admission to SAGE or other talented youth programs;
- SAT scores above 500 on either the math or critical reading portions;
- ACT scores above 21 (M) or 28 (E) or 22 (SR) or 22 (R);
- National Merit Scholar or Merit Semifinalist award
