This intensive program developed by a paralegal with real world experience regarding the skills required for success, consists of core topics and at least two substantive legal topics you will study in depth.  The core topics are legal terminology, evidence and investigation, litigation, legal research and writing, advocacy and motions, and Nevada procedures.  Tort Law and Contract Law, as well as Nevada Practices and Procedures are included in the curriculum.

The program incorporates classroom participation with online Web support and work plus additional curriculum resources including texts, CDs, the Web, LexisNexis, and the UNLV Law Library, utilizing the most current educational technology.

The instructors are attorneys with a thorough understanding of the knowledge and skills required to become an elite paralegal.  You will need computer access, as you will have work assigned using a CD and online.  You will be provided access to LexisNexis during the duration of the program as well as completing research in a law library. 

This is an intensive and comprehensive program.  Because there are no licensing requirements in any state, the program is transportable and UNLV Paralegal graduates are found all over the country, working in private firms, legal departments of large corporations and in government agencies. Requirements for graduation include passing grades on a series of tests, graded writing assignments, completion of a unique client file, and consistent attendance.

While job placement is not provided, you will be notified by email of openings in legal departments and firms who call us with positions.  Graduates of this program are generally very successful in obtaining positions, not only in Las Vegas, but also in the Southwest and around the country.
