Protective Services Operator Certification (PSOC)

View courses| View Courses Offered This Semester | View courses

The Protective Service Operator Certification (PSOC) course is designed to teach the principles and procedures that are essential for protective service professionals to use and know. The goal of protective services is to secure and safeguard high priority persons, places, or things. For the purposes of PSOC, protective services concerns the close protection of “principals” including: corporate executives, wealthy business persons, politicians and government officials, dignitaries and diplomats, celebrities, and other persons at risk.

Protection Agents can work individually or in a Protective Service Detail (PSD) to guard and defend principles against threats including: unintentional injury, vehicle accidents, random accidents, medical emergencies, special medical problems, embarrassing situations, workplace violence, organized/terrorist attack, kidnapping and assassination.

The four-day (50+ hour) intensive training format will develop experienced security professionals from government, corporate, and law enforcement backgrounds into highly skilled problem solvers with a burning desire to serve and protect. No other protective service operator course will provide the student with the level, caliber, tempo, and depth of training available in the UNLV PSOC program.
