Microsoft Office Certificate Program

Program Overview:
In this age of information and technology, documented competence in computing can give you the edge in competitive workplace. These programs will give you theoretical and fundamental knowledge as well as hands-on training in using computer software applications. This program provide certification of your knowledge and skills in different areas and levels of the Microsoft Office family of products.

Prerequisites:
You must have a working knowledge of the Windows operating system and the Internet, including creating, opening, saving, and printing files.

     Our computer labs are equipped with Windows PC computers. Students have the option of bringing and using their own personal PC notebook computers to class. Bringing a 1GB or larger flash drive to class for saving files is recommended.

     Although we provide the required software programs in our computer labs during instructional times, you will also need access to the software at home or at work to complete some of the exercises, assignments, and projects.

Program Requirements:
The program includes seven required courses to earn certification. You may enroll in individual courses without the intent of completing the certificate programs.

REQUIRED COURSES (7. 8 CEUs)
1. Microsoft Word - Level I (1.6 CEUs)
2. Microsoft Word - Level II (1.2 CEUs)
3. Microsoft PowerPoint (1.0 CEU)
4. Microsoft Excel – Level I (1.0 CEU)
5. Microsoft Excel - Level II (1.0 CEU)
6. Microsoft Access - Level I (1.0 CEU)
7. Microsoft Access - Level II (1.0 CEU)

*Courses are not offered every semester

* Materials included with some courses are handouts and instructor-developed curriculum.

* Some classes have required textbooks that are not part of the tuition fees.

* Completion of the Internet Design and Technology Certificate Program is not an explicit or implicit promise of employment. UNLV Educational Outreach does not provide job placement services.

* Refund Policy:  Cancellation of registrations must be received in writing (email is acceptable) no later than two (2) business days prior to the start date of the course in order to receive a refund. No refunds will be issued after this date.  All refunds will be minus a $10.00 administrative fee per course.

* Discount Policy:  Do not register online if you are seeking any type of discount of the registration fee. To qualify for any discount, you must call our registration desk at 702-895-3394, or register in person at our office located at 851 E. Tropicana Ave., Las Vegas, NV to verify your eligibility for any discount. No refunds will be issued if you register online and then request a discount.
