Animal Massage & Care Provider Certificate Program

View courses| View Schedule This Semester | View courses

Developed by IPTouch (Innovative Pet Therapy), this certification program will guide humans into the world of animals. The animals that we bring into our homes become full-fledged family members, our confidantes and comrades, even exercise and meditation partners! And, as with any family member, we want a healthy, peaceful life for our pets. The goal of IPTouch Animal Massage is to create optimal health and to strengthen the human-animal bond thus producing happier, healthier pets.

This program is not a shortened human massage method modified for use on animals. Instead, IPT has created this program to show humans how to become strong, independent animal bodywork providers. Taught with the animal's perspective as its central theme, IPTouch approaches include Swedish, Sports, Myofascial, Trigger Point, Shiatzu, Stretching, and Muscle Energy techniques that animals will understand and appreciate.

IPTouch Animal Massage is recognized by the Dolphin Habitat, Shilo Equine Rescue, Jungle Friends Monkey Rescue, Cheval Equine Show, Greyhound Rescue, Adam and Eve Burmese Pythons, Ferret Rescue, Feral Cat Rehabilitation, Bird Rescue Sanctuary, Wallaby Rescue, Equine Rodeo, Dressage, Jumper and Endurance Specialists, as well as numerous animal shelters and veterinarians.

The following certificates and continuing education courses comprise the IPTouch program:

  • Basic Animal Massage & Care Provider (AMCP) Certification - Includes core AMCP guidelines and bodywork recipes for rescuers, pet care professionals and anyone who wants to professionalize their love of animals. The focus is on small animals.

  • Basic Animal Massage & Care Provider (AMCP) Certification - Intensive format. Same material as the regular AMCP course but this intensive format allows you to complete all of the required in-class instruction for this certification in an intense 5-day format.

  • Advanced AMCP Certification – AMCP II: Equine/Large Animal IPTouch Intensive – Includes guidelines for applying AMCP practices to large animals, specifically horses. AMCP Certification required before taking this course.
