Academic Credit Classes

The Division of Educational Outreach offers UNLV academic credit classes that can be used and applied towards a college degree program in academic college departments. We offer specialized credit classes and conferences designed for specific students and classes for persons involved in community improvement. Some of these classes may be used for degree requirements; others may be used as electives in a major, or for CEUs (for therapists, as an example) and a variety of professionals who require CEUs for re-licensing.

NOTE: If you are a teacher registering for a teacher education class or conference, use ICE for elementary teachers, or ICS for secondary teachers. ICG is graduate level (as are 600 and 700 courses).

Clark County School District accepts 400 level classes (upper division) for salary increment and/or recertification for teachers. Each teacher, however, has specific recertification requirement needs that may be verified by the Nevada Department of Education at 486-6458.

ADVICE TO NEW STUDENTS: CHECK YOUR RESIDENCY STATUS
If you plan to register for an academic credit course and you do not know your Nevada residency status, and you need to know how to secure residency status at UNLV, please call 895-3443.

Next, go to the UNLV website at www.unlv.edu; click on the A-Z index; click on R looking for Residency for Tuition Purposes; and then use the application form.

Persons who have a bachelor's degree should call (702) 895-3320 to inquire into their residency status at UNLV. Fall, spring, and summer semesters charge non-declared residents an additional fee.

Register at least one day before a credit course begins to avoid late fees.  Refunds are made according to UNLV Registrar’s regulations.  After 60 percent of the class meetings have been completed, no class drop or withdrawal is allowed.
